Lily Wu- Miss Cosmos

Lily Wu is a 25 year old model, writer, public speaker, and community volunteer. Born in Guatemala and raised in Wichita , Kansas , Lily is of Chinese descent and speaks English, Spanish and Cantonese fluently.

She completed her Master's of Journalism from the University of Hong Kong , having spent nearly a year and half as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.  Lily graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University with two bachelor's degrees.  She was honored with the “Outstanding Senior Award” for her B.B.A. in International Business and “Overall Outstanding Communication Graduate Award” for her B.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications. Her minors were Spanish and Marketing.

Lily is very active in her community as a board member for Visioneering Wichita, the Wichita Asian Association and the Students In Free Enterprise Business Advisory Board.  She was also a keynote speaker at the Multicultural Banquet, Senior Honor Banquet and for Venture Kids.  Lily serves as the chairwoman of the Kids for the Cure event for the Mid-Kansas Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and regularly volunteers at the local soup kitchen.

Lily has been honored with many awards: National SIFE Emerging Leader Award, Harry Gore Scholarship Recipient, 2007 Senior Honor Woman, and WSU Woman of the Year 2005.  She has been the honored emcee at the Wichita Asian Festival with over 10,000 attendees for the past years. 

In her spare time, Lily enjoys watching movies, traveling, working out, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. 

She also enjoys pageants and has been very involved in the industry.  Lily has held several titles including Miss Ethnic World, Miss USA Chinese World, Miss USA University , Miss Kansas United States, and Miss Kansas Teen International.  She was also a coordinator for the Asian Festival’s Miss Asia pageant for three years and has served as a respected judge and emcee for many systems such as the Miss Kansas International pageants.
